Neuroscience in Video Game Research
The Neuropsychology department recently hosted a workshop for a class from the Graz International Bilingual School. Together with the Digital Psychology department (Digi Lab), the students were offered fascinating insights into the neuroscientific foundations. Not only did the students have the opportunity to measure their own brain activity and receive feedback on it, but they were also able to interactively attempt to influence it in order to control a virtual environment. The goal was to combine the principles of neuroscience with the immersive world of video games in a hands-on experience. Such initiatives not only foster understanding but also highlight the practical applications of neuroscience. This has the potential to spark the students' interest and curiosity in the brain and its relationship to activities like video games.
