At the Neuropsychology department of the University of Graz, we use neuroscientific methods to study the brain in connection with new technologies such as virtual reality, neurofeedback, and game-based learning methods.

New technologies such as virtual reality, neurofeedback or game-based learning methods have great potential to improve e.g. neurological rehabilitation. They also facilitate and expand usability of home-based training at low cost. We use various neuroscientific methods (EEG, NIRS, fMRI, tES) to evaluate the effects of such technologies on brain and behavior. We also focus on maladaptive or non-specific effects, such as psychosocial and placebo effects, of these technologies.
