28th Doctoral Congress of Psychology

On June 6, 2025, the 28th Doctoral Congress of Psychology took place at UNI Graz. Organized by the Doctoral School and the Neuropsychology & Neuroimaging Team under the direction of Univ.-Prof. Dr. Guilherme Maia de Oliveira Wood, the event provided a platform for scientific exchange, interdisciplinary networking, and the presentation of current research projects by our doctoral candidates.

The central focus of the congress was the presentation of ongoing and completed doctoral research projects. Our PhD candidates showcased the current status of their work and offered fascinating insights into topics from various areas of psychology – ranging from cognitive processes and neural mechanisms to creativity research, individual differences, applications of artificial intelligence, and innovative approaches in health and learning research.

A particular highlight was the guest lecture by Dr. Mathias Witte (Adidas AG, Athlete Performance & Innovation). Under the title “From Science to Product – An Innovation Story”, he shared his inspiring journey from academic research to applied research in the private sector. His talk demonstrated how scientific findings can be directly transformed into innovative products and solutions and provided valuable impulses for our early-career researchers considering careers beyond academia.

The congress was complemented by a poster session, which presented additional exciting projects and encouraged dialogue among researchers.
